1979 N20 Matra Bagheera - It's Back

I featured this car back in November, 2010. At the time it was being offered by a private seller in Virginia.

Since then, it has found its way to North Carolina and is now being offered by a dealer called Fast Cash For Cars. It's been buffed and puffed and looks pretty impressive sitting near the Audi TT.

From the outside the Bagheera looks like a typical 1970s wedge shaped sports car. Very nice looking, but pretty unadventurous and normal, it's not a car you would think to be French. That is, until you open the door... The Bagheera is a 3 seater sports car. (As Jon wrote in the comments section of the original post, "The perfect car for the guy who is dating siamese twins.") You gotta love the French!

This car has an N20 kit installed on it. It gives the engine a potential 145 HP, which is pretty impressive in a sub-2000 pound car.

There is one sentence that in this listing that amused and confused me. The seller writes "On an interesting note, this car does have a Mopar/Chrysler of Europe engine as original equipment, like the DeTomaso Pantera." OK, the "Mopar" engine would be technically correct as Simca was owned by Chrysler. But, "like the DeTomaso Pantera"?? Huh? I can't quite figure out what he means by that.
