Outside of the US, these are incredibly nice looking, fun to drive cars. Here we got giant bumpers and an emissions strangled 1.8 liter engine, which took away some of the appeal of the car. Still, the E21 is a better car than most of the cars sold here in the late 1970s and 1980s.
It had a tough act to follow, being the replacement for the 2002. It was a bit more luxurious than the '02, but - arguably - a bit less sporty.
This is a 320is. The "s" is for "sport". The "s" came with Recaro seats, a great looking 3 spoke steering wheel, a front airdam, a limited slip differential, sport wheels and larger diameter swaybars.
This car is in amazing condition. E21s rusted badly. After the E30 3 Series was introduced, the value of E21s dropped and many were bought cheap and abused to death. There are very few E21s left in general and of those, very few are "s" cars.
This car is located in San Francisco and is being offered for the very realistic price - given its condition - of $4950.00
