    dragon5,

if you were wondering about the test:I deliberately made two errors in my previous mail. You don't need to tell them aloud but pat yourself on your back if you find them. Hope you catch the mistakes before many of us get our green cards...

You know what .. i don't think you are eb3.. all eb3 brothers i know are smart and know how to fight for their rights.

you must be eb8 or eb9 ... you attitude shows that ... a born victim.. who not only will live as a victim but will convince others to stay a victim..or turn into silent victims.

I had so much respect for you when you started the hi-5 campaign and led it to glory...please help me not lose it.

I agree GCtest... I don't know what's wrong with eb3_nepa.. he doesnt wanna take any steps.. just wants to be the devil's advocate in whatever we are coming up with

  • GotGC??
    01-11 07:11 PM
    Absolutely!

Apart from introducing new members to IV - and trying to increasing the fund drive - please suggest what else can non-core members do. Each one of us should do something to help IV help us in our own way, howsoever small it may seem.

We should do anything and everything we can for the "AOS without PD" bill before Feb15, and after that date focus our energies on the SKIL & other bill.

People already in the 485 stage: please understand that this "AOS without PD" will not, and can not, affect their already pending 485. This is the time to unite and go for one small victory at a time.

This underscores the need for all of us to work harder and get immigration relief for all of us soon enough. Pls all participate in IV action items. The time is approaching when our collective strength will be required. We need to prepare ourselves for it. Start working on the IV action items. I see lot of new members these days. Pls join others and get familiar with the IV efforts and action items so that we can maximize our efforts.

It looks like EB3 approvals stopped in 2003 from the voting results.
If there was a way to extract the actual numbers from the USCIS, then we can be better able to predict how the movement is going to be. From Mathew Oh's site, it was said that there were about 450 to 500K I-485 applications filed during the July 07 month.

    Sent: 140/485/AP/EAD on 17th Aug
    Received by NSC:17th Aug
    Checks cashed on: 10/17/2007

Why am I posting in TSC thread...cause i'm confused. My papers sent to NBS by lawyer though that was mistake as my employer is NY so should be texas and I was thinking it would be transfered. I just checked my checks cashed, receipt numbers on back, used that to check uscis website...shows we received your application on Oct 12 (guess that's when they open the package) and it's at nebraska center.

so what will happen now? does it get transfered AFTER nebraska cashes checks???

Is there any chance of rejections after checks cashed. (my 140 submitted without actual hard copy approval of labor..used online screenshots...last min situation).

    I'm happy but nervous too.

Oh and get this..I have 4 different receipt numbers but when I check case on uscis..i show a case for 140, for AP, and 2 cases for 485???????????????????? no ead... (EAD and 485 were on one check..which now has 2 diff receipt numbers).

I wanted to thank you all for your advice. We have been digging into what happened and finally figured it out.

I did get my GC in the mail...to tell you the truth, I could not believe I was holding THE thing in my hands and walked around with it the entire day!! :-)

While we had submitted I-485/ EAD and AP forms based on my husbands approved I-140 (EB3, PD: Nov 2005), it looks like the GC was approved based on an I-140 that I had in my name (EB2, PD: Feb 2005), which is now current. Fortunately, since I have listed my husband as a dependent on my I-140 forms, we will be able to apply for his I-485 also now and try to get his GC since the dates are current.

So it appears, my GC is real after all!
    Thanks everyone.
The 485 was filed based on husbands 140 (EB3 with PD 05) and then the 485 was approved based on wife's approved 140 (EB2 Feb 2005)? Is that possible? Now why do you have file for your husbands 485?
    Anyway congrads!!

Can you do any work if you are on 'Z' visa?

Well, you can have an amendment that if you are legal and applying for Z visa, then you dont have to admit to lawbreaking like the "undocumented" have to. You can have 2 options to apply for Z visa. If you are illegal, then you can apply and admit to lawbreaking. If you are legal, you can still apply but you dont have to admit to wrong doing and write a "I'm sorry" letter but instead just show your documents to prove your legal stay and legal work authorization (H1, L1).

    How about that?

I am actually concerned about the processing times increase which will be caused because of the legalization . If congress enacts a law which makes millions of people eligible for immigration benifits and does not allocate enough resources to USCIS to handle the extra work, it will lenghten the processing times considerably. Isn't that a valid concern to be vary of these bills?

This has to be a concern. The enormous backlogs in labor certs was entirely due to the 245i 'mini amnesty' of 2001. If the correct resources had been put in place to administer the huge influx of applications majority of us on this forum would already be on our way to becoming US citizens..i.e. have green cards in hand.

Cannot imagine this has even been considered. You only have to look at the US passport backlog to realize the knock on effect will be disastrous.

yes, my earlier txt file wasnt complete.

    all perm

    22238 INDIA 2006
    1350 INDIA 2005

    I am guessing another 20,000 for 2007.

that's close to 45000 only primary applicants. Average of 2 per family, around 100,000 visa numbers needed. and we have 10K every year. :D

so even for the 2006 folks, anyone that got certified around october 2005 may have a chance in the coming FY 2008. after that it's going to be one quarter every FY.

another 10 years I think unless they increase the total visa numbers.

    This sux man.

I did contribute a small amount of money to IV in the past and i planned to donate yearly the same amount of money.

Am i consider a donor?. if not, is IV going to lobby for everyone in the IV community or just lobby for donors???.

I would like know why IV is NOT considering the onetime donors in the donors list.

By the way i am IV member too and i like the IV for the same good reason as you.

As per this poll, there are very few people left from EB3-I 2001. So PD should touch 2002 in first quarter of FY 2010.

Does anybody disagree? Is this a genuine hope from DOS?

They can increase VISA to 200000 . This is my prediction.
I dont have a website to post an article though.

In next two months the thinktank is going to permanently resolve july2nd fiasco and make sure it never happens again.

    Dont worry guys.

That would require congressional action, and we all know how much action the Congress shows on immigration issues at the moment.
