The Rocky was meant to compete with small SUVs like the Suzuki Sidekick / GEO Tracker. If Daihatsu had somehow managed to survive more than half a decade in the US and set up dealers nationwide, it would have probably competed very well. The Rocky is well built and has a few cool touches that make is a little different from the competition. (i.e. The windows in the removable hardtop to go up into the roofline and open for better ventilation.)
When looking for a Rocky - or any SUV - to use as an everyday driver, this is the type of vehicle you want to find. It's original and unmodified, right down to having its original cassette deck. Chances are this Rocky was never abused.
I'm not a big fan of small SUVs (If you're going to put up with the ride and handling characteristics of an SUV, you might as well go big, right?), but if I were in the market for one, I'd be all over this one.
