Can any one compare vonage vs Lingo for features and quality. ?

Any way calling allowed from cell phone is a good thing.
They are giving local number of 10 countries. So the people in these countries can call that number. So they can save international call charge.

How to use QuicK Masks....
Select the layer with your image.....
Underneith the Foreground and Background colors in the Tools Toolbar there will be two rectangles, one on the left that is a white rectangle with a white circle inside... this is to stop using quick mask... on the right there is a dark rectangle with a white circle inside, this is to entery quick mask mode.
Click the one to enter quick mask mode.
Use the paint brush tool (best at a small size and used with the softer brushes), With the brush, fill in the area that you DO NOT want to be selected (in this case, your body)
Now hit the button to exit the quick mask and the area surrounding the spot you colored it will be selected. Now you can just delete this and be left with your head :)

My GC was approved last year... Its been almost a year and my wifes application is still pending! 2003 PD... She has been current for months now and nothing has happened... We took and infopass and the officer said its stuck in name check, but now with the 180 days rule he said it should get approved anytime and that we should have patience... This was 3 months back! Still nothing... :mad:

Don't think u wife is is the only one in this boat. You can count me in.
I have been with NOn-cap h1b from 3 years...and in may i too contacted the consultant to apply as i could not change jobs easily due to non-caped h1b.
Havign a US degree i din't had problme in terms of quota.
last month i filed for 485 and last week..my consultant faxed me the copy of approved h1b. Uppar wala jab bi detha hai chpad paadke detha hai..!!! My consultant asked me about my plans..all i told him was i need time. But during this time i will pay him in installement the amount he had mentioned in the begining. No damge fee not anything extra from what he ahd mentioned to me intially. EVen i din't file any contrat..i jsut sent him resume and PP copes adn he filed. I too feel bad now as i am not able to utilize it. But i am single and in 6 months i will use AC21 and use capped H1b from this consultant(u r wife can also do this after 6 months).
Act smart when options are many....

My company has applied for my GC few years ago when I was a senior programmer, since then I have progressed to be a project Manager and recently to be a Programme Manager.
Question now is - Technically does my GC application still hold water, since the position for which I applied is different than my current position ? I'm still with the same company though.

I asked a very similar question to my lawyer. His response was as follows:
Your Labor certification was issued with a certain set of job requirements. If the USCIS issues an RFE about your current employment - then your employer will provide you with an employment verification letter with a certain set of job requirements. As long as more than 50% of the job requirements/responsibilities match between these two - you are fine.
To be more precise - the lawyer told me that I am okay with up to two promotions (Sr. Programmer -> Project Manager -> Sr. Project/Program Manager). Beyond that (Program Director) - will be an issue. If my "domain" changed from "Programmer/Architect" (i.e. people who work with code/technology/architecture) - to a project manager (i.e. people who work with project plans, scrum-masters, PMP experts etc. etc.), or Business Specialist(Business Analyst, Sr. BA, BA Managers etc) - then also my GC process would be in trouble.
This advice was very specific to my situation, the way the labor certification was done, and the way positions/titles are structured in my company. However, the basic principle of >50% overlap in responsibilities still holds.
So if you don't have a complete copy of your labor certification - please get hold of it. And also try to understand how the company will issue you an employment verification letter. A good place to start for the later is how advertisements are issued when your company is trying to recruit in your current position, or how the perm requirements were structured for the GC application of someone in your current position.
And also, if I may request you - please consider contributing and helping in IV in whatever capacity you can. I am myself not able to do any active work for IV for some personal constraints - but even passive help like monthly contribution or writing letters during letter campaigns probably help - or at least I would like to think that way.

oh you'd be surprised. Don't you ever design flash apps for people who have never interacted with a website ever? I mean that as in an interactive website, not any old website.

Hi I have a quick question..
I was arrested for aggravated battery. I plead not guilty and fought the case. The judge dismissed the case in single hearing by giving a verdict that i am "Not Guilty". Also my ex filed a 498a case in India. She included everyone in my family. The case is still pending as my ex is here and not attending the court. I was wondering whether this will impact my AOS, I140 and my H1 renewal?
Since AB falls under Criminal Offense, i am worried whether i should even try applying AOS or not?
Please advise.

For my I-485, the Receipt Date is 5th July while the Notice Date is 5th September.
My question is -- does the 180-day count start from the Receipt Date or the Notice Date. Since there is a 2-month difference, this is a fairly significant issue.

sorry to hear that but you can try again soon. may be next time they will get a better VO. what, according to you, could be the reason for rejection?I am surprised as to why that lady rejected their visa just after 2 questions!!were there any weak points like retirement or low income or no children in india. looks like there was some info on DS 160 that she was referring to because that is what is displayed in their computer when they are interviewing. My in-laws have their interview in hindi at new delhi consulate tomorrow and we are keeping our figers crossed.

1. Do you see any issues with my VISA being rejected in India?
2. I was reading on this forum that, without a visa (either expired or valid) stamp most european airlines won't even allow to board the flight, is it true?
If this is true, what airlines should i travel with out any hessle?

Applied for an indian passport extension about 3 weeks ago. When I call to check status no one picks up the phone, when I send email no on replies to it, when I leave voice message no one replies to it or voice mail box is already filled up.

I had a similar case.....Make sure you have all documentation of last pay stubs. You should have proof to show gaps in pay stubs, like bank statement.
Tell your current employer to give the money within a defined period of time, otherwise you will be forced to complaint to DOL. This will give him the time to pay you and prevent you from reporting to DOL. Tell him all the documents that you have to report, which will give him proof that you are serious. Also tell that the $3000 of H1 fees that he forced u to pay was also illegal. Make sure you send all this in written format, either email or printed document, with some proof of certified mail.....which will act as proof for your documentation purposes.
Tell him, to pay at least the salary for 2 months, otherwise you will be forced to report. Give him a 2 week notice....make sure you get a bankers check or money order from him...so that you know you received the money.
Also tell him, you need a letter of experience for the period you worked for, along with the money....This will help you for the GC application too in the future.
My ex-employer did the same to me....In a gentle manner, i told him he was doing stuff illegally and made sure all my communication with him was documentated. He gave me my 11k along with letter of experience, exactly the way I drafted it for my GC application, which i used for my 140 application and got approval in 2006.
The key is to keep calm and not get angry. Be stern and give all the details as I have mentioned above to this employer. You will get your money back.

Case 1:
If you do not contribute or you do not have an employer sponsored 401K plan, open a Traditional IRA account. This will give you an instant $5000 deduction in your taxes.
Case 2:
If you do contribute to an employer sponsored plan and you want to stash away an additional $5000 in another retirement plan (which by the way is an excellent idea), then you have two choices depending on your income. If your AGI is more than $167,000 then your Roth contributions will get phased out and your only option is Traditional IRA. But, in 2010 the income restriction is removed so you can convert to Roth regardless of your income.
Summary:
For me, among the two it is no brainier to pick Roth because tax free gains. If you do not belong to case 1, there are many advantages of Roth over Traditional, one of them is: no forced withdrawal.
Also, 2010 is a special year you can convert your traditional (or Rollover IRA from 401K) to Roth without income restrictions. You can pay the taxes in two years 2010 and 2011. For high income households (esp Bay Area) this is an excellent opportunity.
Regarding where to create an IRA account, I would strongly recommend Vanguard. But Fidelity and T Rowe Price are equally good. The thing to look for is the total investment cost and expense ratio of the funds you are investing in. Don't ever open an account where you have to pay commission to invest. Also avoid actively managed funds with star fund managers.
Among other things, I think all IV members regardless of where they are in their immigration journey, should contribute to the following every year:
401K: 16500 (excluding the employer match)
IRA: $5000 (Roth or Traditional)
College Savings 529: $2000 (If you have kid/nephew/niece)
TIPS/I-Series Savings Bond: Anything that you can stash away in savings.
Other Investments: S&P Index Funds, High Dividend Yield Index, International Index, Domestic and Foreign Bonds, Debt Funds
If you don't believe in equity stay with bonds but don't use stock market performance as an excuse not to save or invest in your future. This small amount of savings (approx 25-30% of your income) over your working years will get compounded and go a long way when your earning potential is not as good as it is now.

I was able to change my address online before they passed this law in TX (I'm not aware that a judge blocked it...), now it would not let me change my address online. Anyone from TX, were you able to change you adress/renew your licence online?
I changed my address online couple days ago, waiting for new DL. For the sake of it, I tried to renew my license too but since its not within some required timeframe of expiry, it did not let me do it. I was expection some message on address change but it went smooth.
