Everybody's case is different, when it comes to how they feel being a in a foreign country and hanging by a thread to get a stable status and stable life. You seem to have gotten a stable job which probably means you are better than most of the people who are working as contractors. But what matters is being on Visa, are you able to enjoy your life here? Will getting a GC help you have a better life or will you continue to lead the same life?
I think if you believe getting a GC will help you lead a better life you should stay here - since your i140 is cleared its another 4-5 yrs wait max. On the other hand if your job here is unstable and you think you will have a better life back home, then you should move. Bangalore is a great city as long as you have a comfortable job and good pay.
Thanks man. My decision was mainly based on the waiting period. Within 4-5 years I can get ultimate post based on my experiance at india but here I have to be in same role.
Also I am trying to start my own IT training firm there so with gods on my side in 4-5 years that company can grow to a mid size firm.

It is always advisable to take an Immigration Attorney with you during an AOS interview. Attorneys usually fill in when you pause or are uncertain. Thanks for sharing this information - looks like this is a very generic interview.
The most important question was - to know if your educational qualification is good enough for the job and all other questions were just fillers.

This is a very great idea, and I think with the aggresive efforts and campaign we can achieve this as we have achieved Julye'07 I485 filling and 2yr. EAD solution, let's discuss and have action plan on how to move forward on this matter, united we can achieve this.

Hi friends,
No doubt this is a great idea and also as newbie2020 suggests no point of wasting time and loosing the current tempo and massive support of IV members on this regard.
Would like to request all, is it possible to change the bridge schedule a bit to 9.00 or 9.30 PM EST so that it would be easier to participate for people who are in Pacific Time Zone? If most people have difficulty in doing that, lets move forward with the current schedule.

It would be difficult to combine both the proposals. The combination would mean that everyone would enjoy the benefits of being allowed to continue living and working in the country with no annual limit. Which basically means no control of immigrants.
I am not in anyway opposing this. But we need to look at it based on how the decision makers are going to perceive it.
I feel what is being proposed by 'realizeit' is realistic and will not hamper the annual limits. It would be good if someone has contacts with the AILA and can persue the matter as a coalition effort.

Saguar, this is not a simple issue and we cannot just this as an independent event. Yes these people are here ilegally but what do they do; work. Yes they work for meagre wages and reduce the price of commodities which would otherwise need to be imported from elsewhere. Now we have heard that due to some of the raids innocent children were torn apart from their parents who never came back from work. children came back from school to learn that they will never see their parents again. whole towns, churches and communities cried out in anguish when such events happen. The pain is tremendous. when you allow a problem to get so deep rooted into the society often the best way to handle it is to first accept it and then plan carefully. You cannot suddenly start deporting a minor fraction of these folks who have indeed contributed to the economy directly/indirectly. You can import cheap goods from other countries but people are now realizing that it is better to import labor and have work done here. This raids and intolerance has an element of hatred mixed in and it is not only about "law". Churches came forward to hide and protect the children who were affected by the raids. shouldn't the children be evicted too??
I equate the situation to a person who sneaks into your house at night and in the morning demands that you respect his human rights and provide him with food and water. No one would tolerate that, yet some how some people think thats ok when it comes to the countries borders.
The church encourages it as most of the illegals are catholics. Poor and illeterate people are usually more likely to attend church and contributes to the churches influence. Believe me, were the Mexicans muslims, Jews or Hindus the church wouldnt care and would probably oppose it. The mosques and temples on the other hand might step in..............
Regarding the children, please understand why they are in this situation. Due to the choices made by their parents.

A US citizen who commits burglary, driving without a license, outstanding fines could easily be facing a jail term. The article wants you to feel outraged because her leg was shackled? Please read the headline again. Their strategy is to demonize the law enforcement when ever they try to enforce the law against illegals.
Yes the problem is deep seated and complicated. Giving amnesty would make them all legal, so the problem goes away! Just like you hear some people talk about drugs. Lets make all drugs legal, so the problem of illegal drugs will go away! What kind of solution is that?

This idea will just put another layer on the GC process. If you are going to make a rule/law to allow this 5 year EAD and new status, why not instead change the LAW to allow higher numbers of yearly GC cards or remove the country based limits.

Visas are divided equally -country wise quota - no country can have more than 7% of worldwide quota. Countries like India, China, Mexico, Phillipines that have more professionals in the USA. So these countries get retrogressed. EB(Employment based) greencard applicants from these countries have to wait.
Rest of the world (ROW) EB2 (ROW) do not have to wait, their dates are current.

This thread starts with a call to all the EB2 people. Is it only the EB2 people suffering due to USCIS actions? Or are EB2 applicants a distinguised lot that they dont want EB3 to join with them?
It is so depressing to see the attitude of some of these guys !!! There have been so many threads explaining the difference(or indifference) between the qualifications of the applicants.
The suffering has been equally bad or even much worse for the EB3 applicants. I am an EB3 2003 applicant and my suffering has been equally painful. The campaign should be about fair treatment to every applicant, not alone EB2 or EB3.
Any campaign will only be successful when we try to do something together.
If you yourself are belittling the EB3 applicants, why do you have higher expectations from the American Citizens/Government.

We make a decision to put threads on the home page that we believe are important for our effort. If you feel otherwise, that is ok. But it is not ok for you to use derogatory language. If you feel so passionate, why don't you start your organization and spend your time, energy and resources and advocate for the cause instead of posting derogatory messages for others. It is very easy to fire when the gun is on someone else shoulder. We understand and share the frustration with green card delays, but that does not give you license to use derogatory language. Everyday there is new thread asking for update, leadership, direction etc. It is not practical to reply to every such post on this forum. That too does not give you license to use derogatory language. In last over 2.5 years we have answered many thousands questions in forums, emails and phone calls. I have heard many a times from my fellow team mates that not once did anyone receive a Thank you note from someone after that someone was fully able to resolve the situation after receiving reply from my colleagues at IV. None of us spend time on this cause to receive a Thank you note, however, posts like yours makes us wonder that are we a community of thankless educated immigrants who are so obsessed with our individual case that all that we want is instant gratification to exactly know the current status of our green cards, without which automatically IV is at fault. Just so that you know, people spend 30 sometimes 40 hours a week over the period of years, just to read a post from someone like you. We received a call at 12:30am yesterday from someone asking about changing to another company because his current employer was not being fair. So when you mock, please make it clear that you are not the one standing in the line of fire and you are not the one who wants to stand in the line of fire. You just wants to be the one to mock and ridicule. If you are serious about taking the baton, please let us know your phone number and we will post it on the website so that people can call you when they have a question. Lets talk about passing the baton, how about we start from posting your phone number on the website, lets see how you take that challenge. No one is paid to work on IV. People spend time on this effort out of their good-will and passion for the cause. So please be respectful towards others for their efforts. And please stop being a pain in the neck and talk some sense if you are serious about picking up the baton. Email us your phone number and you will see it on the website within an hour.

abolish per country limits on EB visas will back fire us because of diversity issue. We should propose some thing where there is no controversy to reject and that's is recapture 200K visas and EAD/APO for 3 years
