I chcked with my lawyer. He is saying that the labor cerification is for the geographic location and they need to initiate a new labor in perm for the new geogrpahic location and get the I-140 approval but I can retain the priority date of the original certification.

You might want to look into the modalities of getting your arrest record expunged in the state you live in. This way you MAY be able to answer no to the question (please confirm with a lawyer): Have you ever been arrested?
no, the expunging of the records only happens as far as other employers etc are concerned. ie. if your future employer does a background check they wont be able to see this. But USCIS and FBI will always have access to that record. expunge != delete. the record just gets hidden from some public searches.

i have a common name. i try to open a stock account. broker tells me i might be a scamster from india who is in trouble with law in india. he tells me name of company. i look it up on google, i find a criminal case against this company with my namesake as defendent. broker refuses to believe me when i say i am a majdoor in the US, not a bloody scamster.
i am sure FBI has the same info and thinks the same.

I believe they want to avoid any phone calls. Since everybody who has called the 800 # has refered to the processing dates......Smart move by NSC and TSC. I believe this will give NSC and TSC the opportunity to process cases beyond those dates without getting questioned.
HOPE continues...Hope they will process cases beyond these published dates.

I received ANOTHER finger printing notice just for me saying "The FBI was unable process your finger print card. In order for the USCIS to continue processing your application, it will be necessary to have your prints retaken."
Is there a way I can ensure that this time it gets done correctly? Bunch of idiots we have working at the USCIS local offices!! I gave my first set of prints on Sep 25th and already there is a problem!

Please refer to http://www.ssa.gov/pubs/10002.html#how and check out Application For A Social Security Card (Form SS-5) under How do I get a number and card? You need to fill out this form.
This form has list of documents you need to get a SSN card. Generally you need to carry your Passport and EAD. They will return all the documents at same time. They won't keep the documents with them and they need all original documents. They donot accept Copies. Hope this helps.

Finally I decided to quit this pilot program.
I had been communicating with an Army Recruiter in CA who said that they can take care of MAVNI Program for a month or so. Suddenly my file was transferred to another station. Until now I had no idea what was going on. I asked why and nobody reponded me, even the Commender who is in charge of the whole Southern CA. I guess this is why so many people adviced me to be careful when they knew I am interested in joining the Army.
Acoording to what I was told by another Commander in LA area who I believe is honest, I would like to warn those who are interestedof the Linguist Program (I don't know anything about the medical parts):
(1) There is no such thing to be enlisted as a Linguist. The US has their own Linguist Program and all of the MAVNI enlistees will be assigned or choose MOS based on the ASVAB score. Nobody will be a Linguist via this pilot program (They confirmed this several times)!
(2) For those who have bachelor degree or above, you will be an officer ONLY when you are younger than 29 years old limit. If you are 28 years old in 2009, and you get your citizenship in 2010, then you are no longer eligable to be an officer.
(3) Every enlistee through this program will definitely be deployed to the war, no matter what. Nuless you and your family are ready for this.
When I was told the truth by this Commender, I was stuned for a while and felt like being cheated. My suggest is that do not believe everything the recruiters say. Ask them to put promises in words by writing. This is an advice that an Navy Attorney offered. Good luck, folks! Citizenship is attractive, but nothing is free ...

My husband applied for SSN based on EAD. After four weeks got letter saying it would arrive within two weeks, still did not come. Went to SS office in person and they actually gave him the number but said they would have to order his card again there were problems with the card printing machine.
The following week got another letter saying the card would arrive within two weeks.
Then the next week, two cards arrived on the same day, in two separate envelopes with different order dates on them.
This process is a bit like waiting for the USCIS, a lottery.

My sister spouse applied for divorce, his green is in processing,he applied for my sister as dependent and she is on EAD with 2 more years of validity,
my question is,
1. her I-485 application is in processing right now, can she continue her 485 processing after divorce.?
2.By April she will be legally separated with her spouse, can she use the remaining period on EAD?
please let me know, because if she can't be on EAD (or) she can't continue her i-485 processing. i will apply for I-20 and change her status to F1.
i tried reaching MURTHY LAW FIRM but i didn't find them helpful , they are just compelling to change the status , with out providing any solution to fight for her green card.

Since your sister is a dependent beneficiary, there is nothing she can do other than change her status if she would like to continue to stay in US.

It is normal that you are getting that error on the USCIS website. My EAD has already been approved, and my receipt number still shows as invalid. Don't panic that the USCIS representative is unable to see the receipt number, as they are looking at the same screen as you are. A lot of people who have called USCIS with this issue are getting a response stating that it is taking USCIS at least 30 days for data entry into their system. As long as you have received the physical receipt notice, there's no need to worry.
