is there a easy way to lock down "Ask a Lawyer for FREE" for lawyers replies only? i.e members should be able to ask questions, but only lawyers should be able to respond. If members want suggestions/thoughts from other members, they can always post in other areas in the forum.
If there are many replies for the questions with partially correct (or incorrect) answers, IMO it makes it hard for lawyers to respond.

It is a brilliant idea. But just keep the idea in your pocket. Someone might read it and patent it before you come to know. Your originality is yours and must be patented in your name. Just my 2 paise.
I am the guy who did the "Quit America Movement" Polls to see how many of us really feel they are highly skilled. I was amazed that we really have some talented people here who beleive in themselves. I strongly beleive that talent alone is not enough to acheive your Dream / American Dream, you also need to beleive in what you have and make bold decisions to overcome obstacles.
Now here is my proposal to all those who think you can contribute to this. This is a original idea of mine and I had been thinking about it for more than 3 years. I talked about this to few people and everyone said it was a great idea. I would like to call this proposal as the "Marriage between Television and E Commerce"
The foundation for the proposal is drawn from these few facts.
1)An average american spends more than 3hrs voluntarily in front of the television. The rest of the world's middle class consumer population also spends lot of time in front of the TV
2)TV and Internet technologies can be converged or it is already converging.
3) A picture is worth a thousand words
Now the technology part of the plan is as follows
What if we can broadcast a television program were anything on the TV frame at the any moment can be searched, compared, purchased. e.g Let us assume a simple scene of a couple walking through the park and there is a wedding happening in the backdrop. The park could be a tourist attraction, it could be used for planning small events or weddings, there could be beautiful plants or flowers, the park could have a well done landscaping, etc
Now the technology part and business
What if a person can press a button on the remote to index that scene for later review or just press another button which shows red dots on all the things that has some searchable or marketable content on that page. The viewer will be able to navigate to the item ot part he wants to see details. Let us say he navigates to some beautiful flower and selects to see information. We can use technology to push the information for the flower on his TV screen. Then we can also show the list of companies who sell that in his area and if he wishes he can choose one of them and place an order for that using his remote. With todays technology the viewers credit line can be tied to the addressable cable box by the bank (just like a credit card company issues a credit for a person)
Now how do we create those red dots and information
We can use image recoginition technology to index the points of interest in each frame in a TV program. We can link the object or itmes to a database which has the information about it and the vendors who sell that.
NOW THE COMMERICAL PART
IF THIS CAN BE DONE CABLE TV CAN BE FREE with no commercial or conventional TV ads FOR ALL VIEWERS WHO CAN GET A CREDIT APPROVAL.

I call upon all those who think we can do this and want to work on this to make it a reality. In simple words "Unleashing the devil in everyone bedroom" the devil is selling. This bill only takes care of illegal immigrants' kids. There is no justice to law-biding, legal immigrants whatsoever. Worst, it will mess up the legal immigration again as all the previous amnesty has done. No legal immigrants in their right mind will suppot this bill.
The bill in itself is a form of amnesty, no matter what you want to call it. It only serves those politicians who see votes as their sole mission without any single consideration of the country. It will generate more fees for those lawyers. It will encourage more illegal immigrants, esp. those who use their children as their excuses for their own irresponsibilities and put more children in danger. It's a slap of face on those who follow the laws and whose children are suffering as much as, if not more, due to immigration delays.
In a country which prides itself as law and justice, it's really a shame and outrageous to see those law-breakers/criminals playing victims and taking advantage of the system. What a joke! If you really think about it, it's absurd when illegals talk about family value, contribution to the country, a better life, etc.? Think about it, folks! Don't we, legal immigrants, have family value, make contribution to the society and want to live a better life too? The only difference between us and them is that while we want all the good things, we do that following all the rules and they don't give a s**t about laws. Illegals only think about themselves and always try to take shortcut, taking advantage of others. The mere fact that they are here illegally and let their children go through all the danger of illegal immigration has said enough of them. They do not have good moral character already and should NEVER be admitted to this country.
As for us, it looks like we will have to fight for justice ourselves. If we don't, nobody will.

When i talked to an IO and at infopass too, its confirmed that
they process the primary application first, and then only look into the dependents cases.
if dependents cases are straight forward and ready to be adjudicated, then the entire family will get approved around same time. in case if more processing is required for dependents cases, they get separated and get approved later.
nothing to panic. its pretty normal if we have to believe what IO says...

There have been many articles (posted in News Article Thread) that claim that grassroot emails, faxes, phone calls, blogs, radio talk shows were a huge reason for the CIR's death. The following are excerpts from some articles.

Like I wrote in my previous post it is risky. Not only she runs into high risk of not getting F1, but a cosular officer can find this strange she changes from dual-intent visa into non-immigrant visa and may think fraud is involved and cancel her h-4 stamp without prejudice. H4 is much better status than F1. H4 allows to study in the United States.
People change from H4 to F1 all the time. I am not sure if it is riskier to do it in India, but many people do it in the US as a COS. My wife did it as well. The reason behind that is even though H4 allows you to study, it does not allow you to work on a paid assistantship while studying. Nor does it allow you to get a CPT for a summer internship or an OPT after you are done with your degree. In fact, in her case, since she has full funding, if she chooses to stay on H4 status, her university might even ask her to pay full tuition fees. Therefore, I would say changing to F1 is of immense value. In this case, since she has more than 5 months before her semester begins, she should probably apply for a change of status right here in the US.

H4 is much better status than F1. H4 allows to study in the United States.
People change from H4 to F1 all the time. I am not sure if it is riskier to do it in India, but many people do it in the US as a COS. My wife did it as well. The reason behind that is even though H4 allows you to study, it does not allow you to work on a paid assistantship while studying. Nor does it allow you to get a CPT for a summer internship or an OPT after you are done with your degree. In fact, in her case, since she has full funding, if she chooses to stay on H4 status, her university might even ask her to pay full tuition fees. Therefore, I would say changing to F1 is of immense value. In this case, since she has more than 5 months before her semester begins, she should probably apply for a change of status right here in the US.

I am in! I had suggested this a few months ago and Andy Garcia, GCS999 and a few others were also willing. Andy had suggested to send Drain chocks as a symbolic gesture to stop Brain Drain. It is a good idea.
Key thing is we should do it in such a way that we do not disrespect the Universities which granted us our education (Both US and home country).

Most likely they are waiting for verification from the regional passport office(RPO) that issued your passport. Persist on calling their numbers during different times of the day until someone picks. If they tell you they're waiting for verification from RPO, call the RPO contact numbers and politely ask them to send verification. When you make the call to RPO, they'll ask for your file number. This is on the last page of your passport. Good luck.

Let me put it this way,
I am in a better position if I quit 1 day after GC approval to move to a job in my line of work than if I quit 1 year later and move to a different line like starting a grocery store or restaurant. If changing jobs is an issue at naturalization (we have no evidence of that), then the former case has better credibility than the latter - though I waited longer.
