1965 NSU Spider Project

The NSU Spider was the first production car to have a rotary engine. It was hardly a success. These early rotary engines were trouble prone.

Just 2400 of these cars were built and few survive. Besides the problematic rotary engine, they were (obviously) rust prone.

This car is rusty, but it looks to be very restorable. As the seller mentions, many of the surviving Spiders have had their rotary engine replaced with a VW or Fiat engine. This one still has its rotary. Best of all, most of the very hard to find trim pieces are still on this car.

This is not a project for the faint-hearted, but whoever takes it on will have a very cool, very rare, attention getting car when they're done.
