The twin turbo Supra was a supercar wearing a Toyota badge. 60 MPH came in 5 seconds (some sources say 4.9). That number is in the Ferrari 512TR and Porsche 911 Turbo neighborhood. It handled and braked as well or better than both those cars.
The turbos on the Supra's 3.0 liter I6 are sequential. The first turbo reduces turbo lag and provides some low end grunt at about 1800 RPM, while the second turbo, which kicks in at about 4000 RPM, provides the final "holy sh*t, this car is fast" thrust.
This is a one owner car. The owner / seller says it has been dealer maintained. The only modification to it are a set of really good looking SSR wheels.
I like this car a lot. Red (a very nice red) looks great on it. The lack of the optional (standard in 1997) basket handle spoiler makes it look sleek and gives it less of a boy racer look. (The spoiler is said to have provided 66 lbs of downforce at 90 MPH, though.) It has just 80,000 miles on it.
This car is being offered at $19,900.00, which I feel is reasonable, given its condition.
