I have done a lot of research on this topic and ended up in taking Tata-AIG. Few tips I can tell:
1. Try a high deductible: It brings down your rate significantly down. The way I saw it is, hopefully nothing will happen to my parents and for small things I have friends who can help them out. If there is something big I can afford a part of it and let insurance take care of rest.
2. have a few extra days than what your parents are coming for: say they are coming for 90 days get one for at least 120 days. Also make sure you get policies which are renewable.
3. Check on the insurance website if it covers hospitals in your area. I looked in one insurance where nearest hospital was 35 miles away from my home.
4. Look for ICU and surgical coverage closely as these two coverages are the most expensive and insurances tend to not cover it.

And as long as that is needed, "Recurring Contribution" would be more attractive tool. Once we set "Paid membership" concept it will instituionalize and in my opinion at this early stage it is not

Ok, lets not confuse this case with Ability to pay and get worried about that stuff. I spoke to another person who contacted me and is having the same issue. His 140 was revoked 2 years back and at that time he got a NOID and responded in a timely manner and he was fine. Now he has a denial on 485 stating that his 140 was revoked 2 years back.
This person is neither desi nor did he worked for desi consulting company or had ability to pay issues and has applied for MTR and waiting.
All that float on internet is "indivisdual prespectives" and "interpretations". So do not think too much about it.
AC21 guidelines are clear - you can refer to them on DHS website, Ombudsman's page, USCIS website etc....
From what I have been seeing and as I did a lot of research and continue to do, 140 revocation and 485 denial does have a pattern and this seems to be a procedural or a serious training issue.
Thats why IV core suggests that we have to collectively gettogether and fix this issue and any other issue.

Today I have seen soft lud on my 485 application, My pd is dec06 eb2-India, I have called uscis IO she updated my address and she told me that they are waiting for visa number once visa number is available they are working on my case, I asked her why I got soft LUD, she replied that IO opened my file and find out that country VISA number is not available. Because they touch my file I got soft LUd.

One has to remember that the famous "AC21" is also a memo! My only concern is that we need to have a really good reason why we think AC21 is legal, and should be abided by, by USCIS, but the latest "E-E Relationship" memo is not legal, or is unjust...

Hi Guys. I am trying to take an appointment in Jan. The earliest I can get is 11th in Kollkata. I have booking to travel to US on 26th. After listening to the delays here, I am confused where to go for stamping or return with AP.:confused::confused:

EB3 I is going to have a long wait. I had applied for Canadian green card and had received it. At present i have EAD and AP. Is it worthwhile to go into consular processing and work in canada or apply for a blue card or think about Australia. If this sounds okay how should i proceed.

What is your PD? Your profile says you are July Filer and your labor approval date is in 2008. Maybe a typo? I think if your PD is before 2003 for EB-3 I, there is hope of getting GC by end of 2010. Otherwise, it could be a really long wait without any legislative changes.

and since only one group of ppl are affected..they dont want to take the pain of fixing the immigration mess...4-5 years is a normal lag for ROW and non retrogressed nations...

instead of that you can be more proactive and support IV campaings!

Yes, our success has created these issues for us. We are sincere, talented, educated, skilled and experienced. In my view, three things perpetuate this:
- this republican regime, the way its runs government (hence throw the bums out)
- lack of interest in our issues by our predecessors who have GC in their hand, our community leaders
- general introvert nature of Asians(aloof, not interested, not outgoing, not mixing, not greeting etc)
There is one more thing that not many people are aware of.

K , I see two views by two different types of folks.
View #1: This system sucks. Its not fair and just. America is a great country and land of immigrants and we chose to immigrate here. Lets work on this issue so that I myself and folks such as myself now and going forward do not have this problem. I will do what ever it takes. I personally feel that regardless of the outcome, it gives immense self satisfaction to commit to meaningful cause. Others might not feel so, but all of us believe that this problem needs to be solved and do what ever we can do.

I will not!. Just because you chose to buy a home and have a life does not mean that others dont. Every one lives their own lives. Those who dont buy a home live a life of their choice. Stop judging people. GC was not a risk or hindrance to you in buying a home but could be for Joe the Analyst. You might have deep pockets, Joe the analyst might not or have other commitments. Coupled with the lack of GC, his risk might be more than some one else.

Looking at the table in immigration-law.com, it appears that 33% have been certified and 33% have been closed/denied of the present 67% that have been processed. Those are absolute numbers (it is not 33% of 67% closed, it is 33% of the total 330K). Hence of the 220K cases processed, 110K have been certified and 110K closed/denied.
If the same trend holds, it will be 165K certified (out of a total of 330K). Add the 1.1 multiplying factor and we are looking at 346K total GCs. This is 2.5 years total. But USCIS seems to be sending off excess EB 1-2 visas to EB3 ROW so retrogression will continue for EB2 India and China.
