Yesterday, on my way back from work I was listening to the NPR. They were covering the story(ies) about over burden immigration system in US. In the yesterday’s story they covered a family (of course originally from Mexico) in the Philadelphia. All the family member (Father, wife & kids-US citizens etc.) came to US illegally and all of them have a green card but this guy did not have GC yet. This guy got caught when driving on the suspended driving license (three times DUI). He said he was driving his sick daughter to the doctor. Well the cops send him to the prison and then to hands him to the Immigration Authorities for the deportation. He was moved to Texas in the Immigration Prison. But his family fought back (with the help of other organizations that help illegal immigrants). Another thing none of them speak English. Now he is out of prison moved back with his family. I am sure he will be caught again for DUI and will get his GC before me.

Well “pyaradesi” I am not proud of anything. I am following rule when other ppl cut the line (via labor subs) to get their GC and illegal are welcomes with both hands.
This EB system is FUCKED UP and it really does sucks. Now I think, I should have come to US illegally and have enjoyed the all the benefits of (not paying taxes, hogging the federal resources, and finally getting the GC and then Citizenship before any other EB applicant.)

A few years back Akshay Kumar had this song "hum hai seedhe sadha Akshay.." at a time when star sons were being launched by their fathers. May the Lord be kind to Mr. Patel, but I must tell you there is a spring in every step or mine.
We all have a lot to be proud of, and it is painful no doubt. But remember ideals are worth giving everything you have. I and even you see ourselves with a lot of pride and dignity and self respect everyday in the mirror, I am not so sure if Mr. Patel does.
We have come a long way, followed every law, and at times I feel ashamed even to ask some Congressman/woman to do me a favor by removing per country quota limits. Because gettng a greencard is one thing, but getting the greencard playing by "their" rules is a whole different thing.
So my friend, take pride in what you represent, do not fight for a GC, fight for the ideal, the quest for the American dream that brought us here. Lets not make the GC an end in itself, but just a milestone.
African Americans went through it, Japanese immigrants went through it, Chinese immigrants went through it, and now we Indians are going through this, treat this whole GC pain like a baptism before America absorbs you. We are as Indian immigrants making history, 50 years from now, there may be a program on History channel about the Indian guy from Bangalore/Mumbai/Delhi/Desipur who had to wait 10 years to get a GC but never got a traffic ticket, and at that time ou never know it may be your grandson running to be the first US Indian-American President.

I don't think that core team has the magic bullet but I didn't even see any attempts made during this bill in the house to attach any helpful amendments and I am very afraid that there might not be any attempt in the senate as well. This is plain frustrating.
I probably sound very upset here but all I am trying to say is that we need to keep trying. I am sure something is done by the core team in the background; at least I would like to believe that but since we don't hear anything or get any updates, it's hard to believe one way or the other....

Initially came on F1 and then H1B and staying on H1 till to date.
PD May 2006 PERM Regular process
I140 approved on August 2007 Regular Process
I485 applied on July 2007 with receipt date on August 2007 for both me and my wife.
My I140 did received RFE and employer replied promptly with proper tax documents and got approved in a week after USCIS received documents.
I485 applied on July 2007 for both me and my wife along with EAD only but not AP for the first time. Applied for EAD and AP second time and received both without any problems.
I have used AC21 (employer sent AC21 letter to USCIS after a month of joining) after almost a year of my I140 approval and joined my client company in the same position with same job duties and client company processed H1B for me and H4 for my wife and got successfully stamped in India during December 2008.
Wife working on EAD for a different employer at the same location.
My questions are
1. Did anyone in EB2 with 2006 PD notice this kind of behavior?
2. Where will my RFE be sent? to my new employer lawyer or to my old employer lawyer?
3. Can anyone guess what might be the reason for RFE?
I will update the post as soon as I know the exact details of the RFE but meanwhile wanted to know what might be the reason and wanted to ask expert opinions on how to proceed further.

I watched the entire webcast of the hearing...thank you very much for the link.
The most interesting fact that I did not know: More than a million GCs are approved each year and only < 140k are for EB immigration. In other words, > 86% of GCs are issued on family basis or "no limit" categories. I do believe that many of the US citizens, politicians and media would have no clue about this fact... Why is there so much of oppostion of EB immigration which brings talent to the country while it accounts for < 14% of all legal immigration!
Loo Dobbs must cry on non EB immigration!!
On second thought, it could be because it is perceived that EB applicants take away their jobs, but will the rest 86% sit at home after getting GCs?. Most of them would eventually start working..

Great enthusiasm everywhere. Individual states may not be good location, because you may not be able to pull a lot of crowd, a common city like DC or NYC is would be most ideal place.
