Boy, almost everyone here feels the foreigners are not wanted. Reminds me of how I used to told by "friendly" (bhadralok) folks in Calcutta's (now Kolkata) buses : Go back to your own "desh"! You come here and take our jobs. At that time it meant your Dad has taken our jobs. Nothing I could do then,and nothing we can do now. Just ignore these folks. Chances are they are the laziest people to be found who blame everyone but themselves for failure.

mrajatish, Thanks for taking the initiative, we have thought about such a drive in the past but later on gave up because the transaction fees on 25 dollars comes to about $4-$5, which is almost same for $50. But yes if people can just spare $25 than even $20 which comes to IV is good enough to reach the target.
How about this - let us have a couple of volunteers call/email people asking for $25 contribution. If we can get 1/2 of 3000 people contributing $25 each, we will get to about 120K. I am ready to take initiative in this - core group, can I get this initiative going?

Any updates?
I checked my former approved H1Bs and found:
1) The Sept. 2000 approved H1B with LUD of June 2007
2) The Feb.2003 approved H1B with LUD 0f April 2006
For both cases, it seems the status is the same as when it was approved in Sept. 2000 and Feb. 2003, nothing new. Maybe these are automatic updates by the computer system.

USCIS should produce a rule saying that if they are x number of employees, then all the employees should have a company email id as mandatory, In that case they will be no issue at all, every thing will be clear and accurate to one and all in the company with any issue.

I too had a soft LUD on Mar 17 and didnt apply for EAD/AP. Recieve date is Aug 7, 2007. Looks like they are going through all the files. in the order they recieved.

Guys , I think this issue has been discussed lot of times.
1) USCIS do not allot immigrant visas, It is alloted by DOS.
2) DOS needs a fix in the current EB laws to capture unused visa.
3) I am not sure if we can push any change in law, given the current Iraq war quagmire.
But I hope they speed up the overall application processing times, with all the increased Fee money they will get from July 30th (by investing money on IT).
With the increased fees...Are they ready to promise us they will decreasing the processing times... and not waste visa numbers...

I am a LEGAL immigrant how has waited in the line for Green Card for 10 years. I've paid my taxes, social security, medicare and followed the law. Immigration bureaucracy and inefficiency at USCIS has meant more than 250K of Green Cards within legal limits have gone waste leading to a very long wait for legal immigrants.
Please tell me what I should do - Wait another 10 years? Go back to home country? or jump the fence?

What if we dont get any receipt notice or rejected papers till the end of this month..do we have to recreate our medical sealed envelop again? what if the doc do not have anything on the computer and can not make copies?
IN ThAT CASE WE ARE SURELY GOING TO AGAIN MISS AUGUST 17TH DEADLINE,IF NOT WILL BE STRESSED FOR NEXT ENTIRE MONTH!!!

Everybody is trying to survive in this world ..diff people react differently to same situation..lying on resume/achievements is not illegal(reason y no body is prosecuted because of this fact..they are simply denied that benefit) however its unethical ..but iam not here to preach ethics.
A fictional scenario to check whether you are ready to take advantage of a loop hole if its in your favour.( A nice quote on this -Everybody likes discrimination when its in their favour and they dont raise their voice then)
My point to say all companies lie/manipulate things to certain extent..desi consultants atleast dont deprive lives like other BIG companies where shareholders are kept in dark until they realize that company is no more worth anything.
Iam not supporting any malpractises are anything anyways this is not a criminal thing its just immoral ..however if theres a loop hole and people want to chance it its upto them. They will be appropriately denied if they are caught, However its not like they are killing anybody.
Finally what do you think when even govt is planning to make illegals legals ..its respecting peoples wishes against legal things(ofcourse they get benifitted)Humanity/compassion is number one..rules are for our well being ..they are not hard and fast. Check for your reputation here i think it says some thing.

In ac21 law; it doesn't say anything about the scenario if 140 is revoked by employer. It is totally silent to it.
AFAIK:
AC21 is not a law, just a guidance. Assume an immigration case goes to court hearing, the judge would completely ignore AC21 guidelines. Any employment per AC21 will be considered unlawful in this case. The probability of a case going to court is not very common though.
The above is just FYI.. You can google for more info.
Don't let lack of knowledge and fear of oppression take over your "thought process".

The issue with all this is that we are not raising our voices loud enough about this training issue or procedural issue ant it is always the individual who deals with the case at individual level by filing MTR.
The entire beurocracy and red tape that one has to deal with in such instances is an issue. People have to file MTR - pay legal fee, involve lawmakers if they don't get response soon, write to Ombudsman .....
So lets stop all "speculation", "fear mongering", "own intrerpretations" and work towards helping ourselves

I hope they do something about this name check mess soon. I filed 485 in July 2003 and have been current for years now... Just stuck in the whole name check mess.
I even completed the interview for my employment based 485 more than 19 months ago. I do not know what else they want ?
