1984 Lincoln Continental Turbo Diesel - Here's an oddball.

The Lincoln diesel was built in 1984 and 1985. It used a 2.4 liter BMW turbo diesel, the same engine found in the BMW 524TD. In the Lincoln it delivered fuel mileage in the high 20s. Pretty impressive for a BIG car.

Here in the US we never took to diesel cars like the rest of the world did. The Lincoln was not a big seller.

This car is now listed on Craigslist, but a few weeks ago it went unsold on eBay. It's in good, but not perfect condition. It has some small spots of rust and the interior needs a good cleaning.

If you're looking for a rare, big, boulevard cruiser that deliverers respectable fuel mileage, this Lincoln could be just what you're looking for.

A big thanks to JaCG reader, Colin, for sending me the link to this car!

1995 Mercedes Benz C36 AMG - This is one of the true automotive bargains out there. The C36 AMG hits 60 MPH in 6.4 seconds. Its top speed is a limited 155. To handle that power, AMG upgraded the suspension and gave it different tires and wheels. To distinguish it from a standard C280, AMG gave it some "special" body molding.

Like most Mercedes, the C36 AMG is a well built car, but when something does break it is usually extremely expensive to repair.

This car, with 166,112 miles on is being listed for $5000.00 or best offer. There are very few cars I can think of that will give you this kind of performance for that kind of money.

1994 Ford Taurus SHO - Looking to be completely anonymous? This is the car for you.

Ford dropped a Yamaha built V6 in the mundane Taurus, tweaked the suspension a bit and created a bonafide sports sedan. Introduced in 1989, Car & Driver named it one of the 10 best cars of that year.

What Ford didn't do was make it look much different from the regular Taurus. Most of the world will think you're driving an old family sedan. There's something really cool about that.

This car, with 130,000 miles on it, is on a used car lot in Tacoma, WA. Click here to see the Craigslist ad.

A big thanks to JaCG reader, Tamerlane, for inspiring me to find and write about this car. (He sent me a link to another SHO, but by the time I got around to looking at it the eBay auction was over.)

1982 Mercedes-Benz 280SL - I've always liked these cars.

The 6 cylinder 280SL was never officially sent to the US. In 1982 we were getting the V8 380SL. It was a fine car, but with an emissions-control strangled engine and an automatic transmission, it was more of a lazy cruiser than a sports car or GT car.

The 280SL isn't a true sports car either, but it's close. The I6 in the 280SL put out 27 more horsepower than the 380SL's V8 did (182 vs. 155) and it came with a manual transmission.

This 5 speed 280SL is not a show car, but a very nice driver. Located in Milwaukee, WI, it is being offered on eBay with no reserve. Click here to see the listing.
