It has some impressive upgrades, including a "rally gearbox", dual sidedraft Webers, a heavy duty cooling system and more.
If you're looking for a V4 96 with a little extra "oomph", this car is worth checking out.

1972 Volvo 142E - All of a sudden there are all sorts of nice old Volvos turning up on eBay. Like the Saab above, this car has had some performance upgrades, but the body is basically stock. The wheels are from a 240 and they look great on this car.
Volvos are legendary for their longevity, of course. Parts for old Volvos are still relatively easy to find. The people who own old Volvos are almost cult-like in their fanaticism. There are clubs, forums and sites loaded with people willing to help other owners. For all those reasons, a mildly modified older Volvo like this one is a perfect choice as a classic daily driver.

A big thanks to my friend, John, for sending me the links to the two cars above!
1974 Audi 100 Coupe S - (These are sometimes known as the 100S Coupe.) I read somewhere that it's estimated that there are just 600 (out of 30,000 built) 100 Coupes left in the world. Out of those 600, just 3 are in the US.
The Coupe is based on the 100 sedan, but has a shorter wheelbase. The 1.8 liter Audi 4 has twin Solex carburetors and a more aggressive camshaft. It can get to 60 MPH in around 10 seconds. From certain angles, the 100s Coupe looks remarkably like an Aston Martin.
This car looks to be in very, very, nice condition. This was originally a South African car and the seller says it has never had any rust. (These cars do rust. Big time.) It is right-hand drive, which will take some getting used to here in the US.
